FAQ’s Whistler Pride and Ski Festival

Q: If I come alone, will I still have fun?

A:  Yes, of course!  We encourage you to get out and say hello.  One of the best ways to meet new people is to join in on one of the daily sports groups like skiing/snowboard or snowmobile tours for the non-skiers or to volunteer for Whistler Pride.

Q: Are there gay ski/snowboard guides for all levels of skiers/riders?

A: Yes, we have ski guides available every day for all levels of skiers & riders so come up and ski/ride with your level group.  There are also lesbian-led groups!

Q: Are tickets transferable or refundable?

A: Regrettably no.  We do encourage you to purchase travel insurance, sometimes your credit card will offer this protection at no extra cost.

Q: My partner and I are looking to get married. Can we do this while at Whistler?

A: Yes, we have several options available for you; just contact us at guest services.

Q: What are our options to get back to Vancouver?

A: We have several options for you, visit our website under travel or see us at guest services.

Q: How do I volunteer for Pride?

A: Visit the festival’s Contact Page and send an email today!

Q: What can I do if I do not ski or snowboard? Will I be bored?

A: There are hundreds of things for you to do and you will not be bored!   Here are a couple of examples:  Sight See on Whistler & Blackcomb – Ride the Whistler Village Gondola and then take the Peak 2 Peak Gondola for a bird’s eye view of these massive mountains. Take in one of the culinary or wellness seminars. Go dog sledding or fly through the forest like a Jedi Knight or Indiana Jones with SuperFly Ziplines. Luxuriate in one of the spas.  Stop by our guest services desk for more ideas and suggestions!

Q: I like to plan ahead, when will the next Whistler Prides be?

A: January 24-31, 2015  | January 23-30, 2016 | January 21-28, 2017

Q: I want the best rate – how can I get it?

A:  Book early!  As with most things with supply and demand, the less inventory (rooms) available, the higher the costs.  When you book early you are helping us plan ahead and when you use the festival’s official travel partner you are guaranteed to get the best price even if there is a price correction later in the season.

Q: Why should we book through your official booking channel?

A: This is one of the only tools we have available to give accurate numbers to our resort partners in measuring the success of the festival and ensuring the continued value we are able to give to you, the consumer.  The alternative to this is diminished support, as it is unclear who is actually staying, for the festival which may result in higher future costs and ties our hands as organizers as to what we can ask for in the future.  As you have the lowest price guarantee you can be assured you are getting the best rate available.
