Whistler Pride Mix N' Mingle at the Audain Art Museum presented by TDJoin us for an exclusive beer and wine Mix N’ Mingle at Whistler’s newest crown jewel, the Audain Art Museum.

Take in the Art Museum’s current exhibition, Stone and Sky: Canada’s Mountain Landscapes. Come and experience a trans-continental journey that explores the richness, vitality and diversity of Canada’s alpine landscapes.

Through photographs, watercolours, drawings, paintings and prints, the exhibition highlights our Nation’s most celebrated artists, including Lawren Harris and members of the Group of Seven, Emily Carr, Toni Onley, Edward Burtynsky, Kenojuak Ashevak, John Hartman, Takao Tanabe and Ann Kipling. With over 100 works of art spanning 150 years of artistic production (1867 – 2017), this Canada 150 project by the Audain Art Museum explores how our artists have interacted with the monumentality and vastness of mountain vistas over time. Questioning and reflecting on humanity’s engagement with these icons of the Canadian psyche provides a unique opportunity in which to consider the idea of nationhood and how physical landmarks define us as a people.

Abu – Vancouver Screening by VIFF

Abu - Queer Film in VancouverArshad Khan's first-person documentary has a good deal to say about our life and times. His journey would have seemed unthinkable to earlier generations, which explains why his strained relationship with his parents is the focal point here

Abu (Father) draws heavily on the Khan family's home videos – as well as clips from Bollywood musicals and animated sequences – to bring to life what was initially a happy childhood in a prosperous, liberal Muslim home in Islamabad, Pakistan, in the 1980s. A downturn in their fortunes eventually led the family to emigrate to Canada, but the teenage, gay and miserable Arshad didn't fit in there either. And by the time he did come to terms with himself, his parents' religious beliefs had hardened in the post 9/11 world.
